I had to remove dkms-bbswitch and set in bumblebee.conf PM Method to none for nvidia driver. If normal files work then I'd assume that this is either bad at source or has faulty sum value. You could try installing and running ddu and reinstalling driver directly from nvidia's site, this worked for me when i had similar message. Registration is quick, simple and absolutely free.

Has anybody succeeded? Video card is a NVIDIA 8500GT. Were you ever able to find a resolution for the NVIDIA driver problem? The max resolution that I was allowed was 1024 x 768, but all the flashy window enhancements are working well.
